Espoo

Espoo offers good and diverse services and comfortable living environments to its citizens, as well as cultural activities that range from old design traditions to embedded design. The cultural offerings include the WeeGee Exhibition Centre and the Gallen-Kallela Museum. Classical music enthusiasts are served by the Sello Hall, acoustically one of the finest concert halls in the capital region. Those in favour of the quiet of nature can enjoy the Nuuksio National Park, which covers 45 square kilometres.

Kauniainen

Kauniainen is located inside Espoo. Surrounded by busy urban districts, Kauniainen remains a green garden city characterized by houses and villas. The garden city has a social dimension where human scale is reflected in the quality of life.

Vantaa

The vision of Vantaa is to be an international hub of commerce and technology, which also offers a good living environment for people of all ages. Aviapolis in the vicinity of the Helsinki international airport is a fast-growing business and residential district as well as a centre of international trade. The logistics of Aviapolis make it an attractive location for companies that require proximity to good transport connections.

Lahti

Lahti is the eighth largest city in Finland. The city’s many strengths include pleasant areas on the shores of Vesijärvi Lake, other spacious housing districts close to nature, and good city services. Lahti is surrounded by the beautiful hills of Salpausselkä, which bring top-quality drinking water to the city. Lahti is known as a dynamic city for sports and culture owing to the annual Lahti Ski Games at world-famous Sport Center Lahti, internationally renowned Lahti Symphony Orchestra, the acoustically top-class concert centre Sibelius Hall, and many other recreational opportunities.

Lahti’s strengths in design include Institute of Design, which is highly recognized among design education institutions. Wood Architecture Park is home to unique examples of contemporary architecture in wood. A new Lahti-based foundation focusing on Finnish design, recently established on the initiative of industry, underscores the importance of design-related businesses in the Lahti region. In addition to design, the region has one of the largest concentrations of enterprises in Finland’s environment cluster.
